LUCIEN CLARKE: A MAN WITH FINGERS IN EVERY PIE WORTH HAVING FINGERS IN

Where do we start with Lucien Clarke? An embodiment of all things culturally relevant, Lucien Clarke is a man with fingers in every pie worth having fingers in.

To pigeon hole Jamaican born, London raised Lucien Clarke would be a crime. Photographer, director and model are 3 titles that can be frequented with his name - not only has he explored all 3 but he has made monumental contributions.

Lucien The Skater. Lucien has been on the scene for over 10 years as a professional skater and continues to influence skaters both old and new. With Palace skateboards being a brand that is now a household name, not just amongst skaters, it’s impossible to discount what Lucien contributed as one of the key faces of the brand. From an exciting underground brand, to recently collaborating with Juventus, Palace’s exponential growth has been synonymous with Lucien's increasing prominence in and amongst the culture.

Securing the cover of iD Magazine in 2019 was the pinnacle for a blossoming relationship between Lucien and Palace: both organically yet monumentally growing from the ‘underground’ to the global scene.

Whilst Lucien’s impact on the skate scene will be forever memorable, it’s not all he’ll be remembered for when all is said and done. More recently hopping into his photography bag, he’s shot multiple magazine covers, whilst creating the DCV ‘87 brand. With a strong aesthetic that can be seen across the Instagram page, close friend and fellow skater Blondey makes multiple appearances, it seems Lucien and Blondey’s ever growing friendship has led to Lucien assuming the role of trusted photographer of another skate icon - who he happens to be very good friends with.

Whilst Lucien enjoys life behind the camera, he certainly thrives in front of it too. Countless magazine covers, featuring on Skepta’s ‘Ignorance Is Bliss’ album cover and THAT Louis Vuitton show, Lucien Clarke has been the one to watch for longer than we can remember. Lucien Clarke is just one of those people that, even if you don’t know who he is, you know his face - it’s literally been everywhere.

Lucien is the prime example of how once rigid moulds have well and truly been broken. In the creative industry, it’s a blessing and not a curse, to be a multi faceted creative, and Lucien is one of those who is pursuing multiple interests with matching intensity and reaping the rewards tenfold.
