TALIA GODDESS IS THE POWERHOUSE MAKING STATEMENTS IN THE PUMA SPEEDCAT

Whether she’s laying a verse, an outfit, or an instrumental, the Brooklyn-born, London-living Talia Goddess has established herself as a force. I initially came across Talia Goddess as she opened for BenjiFlow at Lafayette, and it’s been a name I have kept front of mind since then. Seeing her hold space so well, sharing a story with the crowd before jumping behind the decks to mix in the track, then wandering around the stage as if in her bedroom as she performed, there was no doubt in my mind that she’d go far.

Since then, her most prominent release ‘Down to Earth’ is an exploration of all she is and has become: whether that’s moving from Brooklyn and immersing herself in London’s club scene, her Caribbean roots, her goal to create queer-friendly spaces for those like herself, Talia Goddess really lives what she raps, sings and talks about when calling herself a ‘young, creative powerhouse’. Whilst her music is certainly the most recognisable aspect of the artist, there’s a producer, DJ, model and multi-instrumentalist that sit within her capabilities. With such a big world in front of her, and even bigger dreams to accomplish, it’s only right that she laces up in an iconic shoe that has a legacy she can reference impact wise.

Joining forces with size? for Puma’s Speedcat launch in Manchester, the journey of Talia Goddess and the Speedcat certainly draw similarities across the board. A shoe that began making as much noise as the cars it’s drivers raced, the silhouette is still most associated with racing culture, namely Formula 1, and has stepped out the archives and into the present as an already well-adored Y2K gem. A multi-hyphenate in its own right, the shoe has returned in its original black and red colourways, and is ready to perform on the streets, as it has done on the track for the last quarter of a century.

Speed, precision and unparalleled performance. Words that ring true to the Speedcat but also to anything Talia lays her hands on. As if moving from one metropolis to another wasn’t enough, the artist now runs her own label, Trance Records, and continues to push her creative mind – a perfect example being her having a single release party in a boxing gym, giving people to let off some steam to the hard-hitting ‘One Time’. One look at her Instagram account will show you that her duality doesn’t stop with her music. Whether it’s London Fashion Week or it’s showtime, you can be assured that Talia is going to present an outfit that turns heads. Showing skin or going oversized, her mastery of her aesthetic means she gets it right for herself every time, with many of those outfits worthy of being completed by a legendary Speedcat on foot.

As we approach 2025, we’re so excited to see what Talia Goddess can offer, whether that’s in the studio, on the stage, on the runway and beyond.
